Maggie Cardasis is an associate in Lubin Olson’s Commercial Litigation group.  Ms. Cardasis’s practice focuses on complex litigation and high-stakes disputes.  She has extensive experience defending individual and class actions brought under a variety of consumer protection and data privacy statutes, as well as managing breach of contract and fraud matters.  She has obtained favorable rulings for her clients in district courts in California, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, and Colorado, as well as in California Superior Court.

Ms. Cardasis is well versed in all stages of civil litigation, including motion practice, depositions, and pre- and post-trial briefing.  Her trial experience includes delivering opening statements, examining clients, and cross-examining opposing parties, experts, and percipient witnesses.

Ms. Cardasis maintains a robust pro bono practice, recently representing a local non-profit serving low-income families in San Francisco through a ten-day arbitration hearing.  She also recently served as the Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Taskforce to the ABA’s Consumer Financial Services Committee.  As Chair, Ms. Cardasis hosted widely attended CLE programs on how the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated social and economic inequalities affecting racial and ethnic minority groups in America, and how the financial services industry can better serve transgender and gender-diverse consumers.  Maggie has also collaborated with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to host trainings on avoiding elder financial fraud at senior centers across the country.
