Elaine Andersson is of counsel in Lubin Olson’s Real Estate and Leasing service groups. She represents businesses and individuals in office, retail and industrial leasing, property management issues, contract negotiation, and real property acquisitions, dispositions, and financing. During her career, Ms. Andersson has been an officer of two publicly-traded Real Estate Investment Trusts, spent over a decade as a law school professor and administrator, and practiced with a multinational law firm. As vice president and regional counsel at Boston Properties, Ms. Andersson was responsible for all legal matters related to the company’s West Coast operations and 6.2-million-square-foot portfolio, from A (agreements and architects) to Z (zip lines, Zambonis, and zoning). At Cornerstone Properties, her practice focused on leasing and property management for the company’s Bay Area holdings. While associate dean at Golden Gate University School of Law, visiting professor at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly the University of California, Hastings College of the Law), and visiting professor at the University of Paris, France, she taught Contracts, Real Property, UCC Article 2, and Community Property in the core curriculum, as well as Real Estate Transactions, Real Estate Clinic, and Disability Law electives. Ms. Andersson has been a leader in a number of industry organizations, including terms as chair of the Real Property Law section of the State Bar of California and as president of Commercial Real Estate Women-San Francisco. She has been chair of the Government and Public Affairs Committee of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA)-San Francisco and a member of the board of directors of BOMA California. For more than 20 years, she served as the CFO of the Blum Foundation, a local institution that provides financial aid to law students at San Francisco law schools. Ms. Andersson has been honored by Thomson Reuters as a Northern California “Super Lawyer” in the field of real estate and named one of the 100 Most Influential Women in Business by the San Francisco Business Times.
